Jabberwock (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:29 pm Can anyone explain true public corporations and the benefit of them? I keep running across discussions saying how they are the most profitable, but not how to protect them from share takeovers and all that. |
Caretaker (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:46 pm The birds! The Birds!!!!! |
Jabberwock | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:47 pm So do i feed my true public corporations bread and corn? or let them fly away? |
Caretaker (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:48 pm That, young padawan, if for you to discover. P.s. Truly public corps can sell at the highest quality = more income. They use less FMU so less cost. = more profit. However, you only own 24.99% thus only get your share of the income and costs. You can't really secure the shares - hence it being public. Make sure you sell to only those you trust. |
Jabberwock | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:51 pm Fair Enough p.s. exactly what i was looking for. Thanks Caretaker |
The Wise One (White Giant) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:52 pm If you want some really detailed info on public corporations talk to Treasurer. |
Jabberwock | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:53 pm Thanks Wise One. |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:53 pm Public corps don't use less FMU. Its still 68. You just have more quality (250 instead of 225), which means more income. |
Caretaker (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:54 pm Oh, sorry didn't mean to misinform. Guess im getting outdated :P |
Jabberwock | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:55 pm Plus can't your CEO break the 750 corp limit with public corps? |
The Wise One (White Giant) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:58 pm Yes, through the share market. Treasurer has somewhere around 2200 corps in one CEO alone. It is tedious and painstaking to do and takes determination but can be done. |
Jabberwock (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 08:02 pm Ah, much thanks. How do i get ahold of Treasurer? |
Jo Salkilld (White Giant) | Monday, December 29, 2008 - 10:04 pm THAT, Jabberwock, is not possible at the moment, thanks to the GMs ... Hugs and respect Jo |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, December 29, 2008 - 10:38 pm Or you could talk to me....I have a fairly good grasp on public corporations now. |
Jabberwock (Fearless Blue) | Monday, December 29, 2008 - 10:39 pm Dern! So all the knowlege he holds is unavailabe. Thanks for the info Jo. Resp Jab |
Jabberwock (Fearless Blue) | Monday, December 29, 2008 - 10:42 pm Oh, Q didn't see your post. I'll message you in chat if you don't mind. Jab |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, December 29, 2008 - 10:44 pm Correction to my earlier post. FMU's across the board have been reduced to 66. This was a stealth change. |
The Wise One (White Giant) | Tuesday, December 30, 2008 - 12:11 am Q has a decent grasp of the share market. |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, December 30, 2008 - 12:34 am Just decent? I think I deserve more credit than that. ;) |
The Wise One (White Giant) | Tuesday, December 30, 2008 - 05:25 am Don't expect too much from me. I am an underachiever. |
Eeoulo (Kebir Blue) | Monday, January 26, 2009 - 08:02 am So am I correct to hear that any public corporation can still be taken over by others even if you dont have the shares for sale? I thought the game mirrored RL where you can only buy shares of stock if someone is actually listing them for sale. I've been noticing in the share market all the low p/e companys have high demand registered for shares but none get sold. So how is the takeover happening? |
Treasurer (White Giant) | Monday, January 26, 2009 - 05:27 pm Only through NATIONALIZATION of the corp by the country the corp lives in. |
Alexander Platypus (Kebir Blue) | Tuesday, January 27, 2009 - 06:11 am the takeover happens if the stock splits over and over, givin new shares, your target % will allow others to buy those and increase their ownership % beyond your stake unless you have more than 1 entity controlling the public corporation. |
coolwind (Golden Rainbow) | Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 01:47 am stock splits make no diff to % share holding |
Yankee (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 02:36 am "stock splits make no diff to % share holding" depends, when you catch a failing public corp the stock retractions can if you work it right give you 100% of the stock if you so desire. At a min I don't leave much out for someone else to collect profit on. no the splits themselves don't change % but it's the guy grabbing the corp and issuing IPO's at the right time so it will cut the number of current stocks in the next month doing it |
Treasurer (White Giant) | Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 09:51 pm That is absolutely correct. |
