I'm having trouble balancing my population.

I have lots of Low Level Workers, but lack enough Mid Level and High Level workers.

My education is at 200, and I also have high number of back-to-works schools (as many as universities).

How can I get this balance right? What should I do to produce more mid-level and high-level workers?

Convert them over from other professions is probably the quickest. Sadly they don't have boosters available to allow us to buy only workers.

I would recommend setting education priorities high for either teachers or nurses, as they are more easily educated in large numbers compared to some of the other professional classes. Convert said teachers/nurses to the MLW/HLW you need.

I personally prefer to spam nurses.

Training one woman to be a nurse only to send her to work in an alumiminum smelter, that's a tragedy. Sending 20,000 nurses to work in the smelters, that's a statistic.

@ Keith;
mmmm....spam
mmmm....nurses

Anyway, I think that we should have Brothel corps. That way, our nurses could be put to good use. Also, what about narcotics corps? All of our unemployed science teachers could go and work there, helping to produce various drugs!!!

Not only that, but our poor sims have never tasted beer. If they want to get drunk, they have to drink wine. I demand beer corps!!!

if you set your priorities to less than 120 will you end up with more ll hl and ml workers or does it matter?

You only need about 10-15 back to work schools max.

C.Rabs,

If education is less than 120 you keep more low level workers.

You can convert 50,000 professionals into any level workers. Nurses train much faster than other professionals.

Haha, yeah but your country costs would go waaay up in the form of prison operating costs and food stamps...maybe an inner city projects corp? lol

Keith has it right as far as teacher/nurses go. If your problem is severe try putting your education priorities at 18 each. Its not instant relief, but it will right itself if ya stay on it.

What exactly is the value of pumping your education index to 200? What happens with workers and education when you do this? (Other than helping you raise your overall index so you can level up - I understand that much)

Does it have some benefit in terms of employment mobility? I think I heard that somewhere.

And how come you only need 10-15 BTW schools? Don't you need as many as it takes to educate all the housewives available to go back?

And it's weird, but I've actually got more BTW schools than I supposedly need for all the available housewives in my country, and yet when I build more BTW schools the number of housewives they educate actually goes up beyond the number of housewives I supposedly have available. What's with that???

It gives you more of the professional class of workers. Those you can change to the LLW, MLW, or HLW if and how you want, but you can't change aa LLW, MLW, or HLW to a professional class. So it's a more flexible employment strategy.

So it speeds up the rate of training of, for example, high tech engineers, high-tech execs, etc?
