Wednesday, July 14, 2010 - 09:05 pm I known there has been many discussions about WP before, but I had some new thoughts on how to tweak it in order to avoid exploitation of it. I think WP should be changed to 1 of 2 scenarios: 1st...don't allow declaring war on others if you are using War protection in your empire. 2nd...Only half of your empire (based on total population) can be in WP if you want to Declare War on others. In both cases...if you don't want to Declare war on others then you would be free to have your entire empire in WP. A secured main would not count as WP.

Friday, July 16, 2010 - 04:28 am I don't fault Wendy for playing the way she does...it's by the rules. I'd just like to see one world, I don't know, maybe the war world, where there's no war protection (except vacation WP). AND Zeba's first law, no declaring war on presidents if you have any countries in war protection.

Tuesday, July 20, 2010 - 06:01 pm Here are my examples of my proposed change to the WP system: War Protection Empire Ratio...1st add up all the population in each country of the empire, and then divide it in half (or whatever percentage you like). - Allow only half of your empire to be in WP (not including the secured main) if you declare war or try to go into WP after declaring war. - Percentage of protected countries could be lower...say 33% in WP or none at all (secured main doesn't count). - A secured main does not count as being in WP, unless you are on FB in which case it could be. Example 1: Country A...90 mil pop (Secured Main) Country B...75 mil pop Country C...50 mil pop Country D...25 mil pop Country E...12 mil pop Country F...8 mil pop Total population of Empire = 260 War Protection Empire Ratio = 130 Player puts Country B and C into WP and Country A is a secured Main: WP countries = 125 (75 + 50), so they would be able to declare war with Country D, E, and F. Example 2: Country A...90 mil pop (Secured Main) Country B...75 mil pop Country C...50 mil pop Country D...25 mil pop Country E...12 mil pop Country F...8 mil pop Total population of Empire = 260 War Protection Empire Ratio = 130 Player puts Country B, C, and D into WP and Country A is a secured Main: WP countries = 150 (75 + 50 + 25), so player would not be able to declare war with any countries until they removed a country from WP = to or greater than 20 mil pop. Example 3: Country A...90 mil pop (Secured Main) Country B...90 mil pop Country C...85 mil pop Country D...15 mil pop Country E...12 mil pop Country F...8 mil pop Total population of Empire = 300 War Protection Empire Ratio = 150 Player puts Country B and C into WP and Country A is a secured Main: WP countries = 175 (90 + 85), so player would not be able to declare war with any countries until they removed a country from WP = to or greater than 25 mil pop meaning they would have to remove Country B or C from WP before declaring War.. Example 4: Country A...90 mil pop (Secured Main) Country B...90 mil pop Country C...85 mil pop Country D...45 mil pop Country E...30 mil pop Country F...30 mil pop Total population of Empire = 370 War Protection Empire Ratio = 185 Player puts Country B and C into WP and Country A is a secured Main: WP countries = 175 (90 + 85), so they would be able to declare war with Country D, E, and F. Example 5: Country A...50 mil pop (Secured Main) Country B...45 mil pop Country C...15 mil pop Total population of Empire = 110 War Protection Empire Ratio = 65 Player puts Country B into WP and Country A is a secured Main: WP countries = 45, so they would be able to declare war with Country C.

Tuesday, July 20, 2010 - 08:23 pm I think it will be easier to find loopholes if it's done by population instead of by nominal value. Example 6: Country A...44 mil pop Country B...11 mil pop Country C...11 mil pop Country D...11 mil pop Country E...11 mil pop Player has A secured, while B, C, D & E are out of WP. Country A can be a decent country loaded with weapons, ammo and cash, and the others are worthless C3s used to fight other players without risking anything of value. If the rule is that half of the empire's nominal value must be out of WP in order for the player to attack other presidents, then you can't really have a top country as your main AND harass players with worthless c3s. You COULD conduct c3 wars if you were to make your main worthless, but you couldn't have your cake and eat it too, so to speak.

Tuesday, July 20, 2010 - 09:21 pm Jojo...I see your point and perhaps the nominal value is a better barometer then population. The reason why I excluded the secured main, was in the case of 2 country empires. Unless your 2nd country had more pop or nominal value, then you wouldn't be able to declare war on anybody, which will usually be the case with small empires or ones that get beat down to 2 countries. However if you also incorporate some of the other changes I proposed for curbing C3 warriors, then I think it will be much more fair.

Friday, July 23, 2010 - 04:06 pm Based on the conversation in the Curbing C3 warriors...I am now thinking that the Secured Main SHOULD be included as WP country, so half of your empire must be out of WP if you want to declare war.

Friday, July 23, 2010 - 04:42 pm I think a lot too. I think we all should think a lot less, and be more impulsive. Makes the game more interesting. But hey, it is just a thought from a Thinking Woman.
